How do I get this sensor loose?

Grrrrr. Germans!!!
What are ya thinking? Making a sensor with a non removable cord, and then threading it into a hole with fins so close to either side that I can't get a wrench in

1) what is this sensor? Left rear head on 87 3.2L that goes to three connector bracket that originally was mounted to the engine near the fuel filter on left top side of the engine

2) Any good ideas on how to remove it? I can get about 1/2 of the width with an open end wrench. I can't get a socket or closed end wrench around it because of the non removable connector and wires.

Richard,

1. The sensor is the cylinder head temperature sensor.
2. I'm sure that there is a Porsche Special Tool that they would have at the dealership but you should not need one. Go buy an el-cheapo box end wrench and cut a notch in the box end just wide enough that you can pass the wire through the gap. Then use it like a normal box end wrench (oh and wear safety glasses...just in case).

I think FC means buy a cheep deep socket, the correct size, and cut a slice up the side of the socket for the wire to exit. That's what the factory tool is. But I see what you mean FC about a box wrench also. I think either one would do the job.

i'd go with the slotted socket. I think the slotted box wrench might open up and you risk rounding the nut.
