Todays stupid question.
Well I got back late from a trip and my new engine yoke was waiting. I picked up a 3.6 last week, and plan to start working on it. It does not have a flywheel attached.
How do you mount the yoke to the engine? I assume I need to buy some bolts, but am unsure the size. I tried doing a search, saw plenty of photos of engines already mounted. Thanks for the help. Cheers, Emerald

Engine has studs, or should have, to mount the transmission. Put some nuts on those. You will need some spacers. sockets work.

Ah. The engine does not have the four studs. I guess I could swing by the parts counter and pick them up, then get some washers from home depot.
I have one of the studs. Maybe I could get a couple of bolts to use instead. Thanks for jump starting my brain. ![]() Cheers, Emerald

Just be sure you have plenty of thread engagement and a drop of oil on each one

You only need two studs to mount the motor to the yoke, washers or bolts for spacers are fine. Make sure you don't over torque the studs use the same value for engine to trans bolts.
Also I would get Wayne's rebuild book, you will need it!

Thanks for the tips, and I do have Wayne's book. I plan on using it quite a bit, even though it doesn't directly address the 3.6. I guess once you are down to the longblock, they are pretty much the same animal.
I am looking forward to the adventure. ![]() Cheers, Emerald
