No Oil Pressure
Just had a 2.0 litre engine rebuilt with new rings and bearings and cranking the engine over it is only showing 5 psi and I don't want to connect the ignition.
The engine has By-pass mods and when it last ran it produced a healthy 80-90psi. It is filled with a fairly light break in oil about 15 grade. The pressure relief valve seems to be OK and we have checked the pressure with a mechanical gauge so its not a faulty instrument. Any ideas about what may be causing the problem. As far as we know all the parts have been correctly installed but something is clealry adrift. |

You re expecting too much of your starter to do more than move the needle.
Start it up and see where your pressure goes. If you dont have pressure you ll have to believe one of the seals on the oil pump is not there or got knocked off putting the halves together, BTDT Another possible thought. If you cut the crank and the shop turned the nose bearing area too and you used the old bearing you ll be dumping oil back into the case Bruce |
