intermediate shaft bearings

Hi All, the new intermediate bearings that i have bought from porsche have no oil holes in, they are the same part number as sold here on the site and look the same as the picture, but they are not the same as the old bearings that came out and ot the same as the bearings being fitted in waynes book. Just making sure these are correct.

thanks
Rik

The thrust bearing doesnt have any holes because it is fed from the secondary bearing that taps the main oil galleys in the case.
Oil travels through the case galleys in the upper cross bolts. At the bearing on the intermediate shaft inner there is a galley supplying the oil for both bearings. The oil fills the intermediate shaft through the gears area to the thrust bearing.
You have to have oil holes in the non thrust bearing and a trough on the thrust intermediate shaft area.

Hi Bruce, is this thrust bearing a new design, as my original thrust bearing has a oil hole in it.

thanks

intermediate shaft

The oicture, the hoke and bevel to the left are the feed for the thrust to the right so the thrust bearing hole doesnt matter.
