Technically there is nothing wrong with using two gaskets and the thickness is not an issue but 2mm is sounds like too much. If this is to compensate for cutting the cylinder base there is no issue with the timing-chain housing but if it is to compensate for material removed from the center of the case this will end up causing miss alignment with the cam coverplates. |

Update/Question May 18th
I'm ready to put the heads/cam carriers on now.
Found a great post on pros/cons of how to do this (Head install sequence) along with a great video (Nick Fulljames fits barrel & cam carrier.wmv - YouTube). There are two parts to this video sequence. After studying this a bit, I think I'll do it like the video. New issue: we are moving in a month to Dayton, Ohio. Anyone have a good machine shop in that area? I'd still like to pursue getting the heads ported before I bolt them on. Also, I'm still shopping for a set of S (or equivalent) cams to match the rest of the build. Let me know if you've seen any. As always, it's great to know I can post a dip$hit question and not have someone laugh too hard at me before giving a straight answer! Thanks all. Landon
