Carrera chain tensioner

Hi, I bought a Carrera tensioner chain cover. I was told that the covers had a oil passages for the tensioners. I also noted that there was a sensor in the chain housing, can anyone tell me what is the sensor for?

The sensor is for a tempurature switch. It's got something to do with the fuel injection system. I think its called a "thermal time switch".

The temp switch is used on late Turbos and the 80 to 83 SC USA cars
