930 tensioners help
I'm getting ready to install my 930 tensioners and have a couple of questions;
1) It is REALLY hard to compress these. I assume they're supposed to be really stiff? It's even tough with the vice! 2) How do I know if the fail safety stops have been installed? Can you tell from the outside? 3) What is the purpose of the bolt in the side? Anybody got a cutaway view or one that's all apart? |
They are hard to compress, a really big screwdriver is needed
The fail safe is a collar that attaches, usually red or blue. It has 2 pieces and it has 2 cap screws. It sits about 4mm above the tensioner base on the hydraulic pin after installation. You cannot install the tensioner with the collar in place. Bruce |
