Early 911 Cylinder Head Cross Reference

Based on a question from one of my customers, I did a little research and put together this early 911 cylinder head cross reference listing.

I thought others might find it useful.

Note there are a couple of missing pieces. If anyone knows the casting numbers for those heads, please let me know and I'll complete the list.

Nice.

Flow ratings (CFM) would be over the top!

Steve@Rennsport 12-31-2009 12:18 PM

Nicely done, Tom.

Tom,
Nice and thanks. You don't happen to have the combustion chamber volume for those heads listed, do you?

Hcarraro 12-31-2009 04:33 PM

Good information Tom. Thanks for sharing.

Saved, Thank you.......

The 2.7 Carrera mechanical uses the same as the S of 70 to 73. I had one in my hand this week with a 75 date stamp on it.
But I will save the sheet for the information,
Bruce

The 2,0 liter heads are 72cc, the 2,2-2,7 are 68cc.

That's all I know, the earth ends for me in 1978 . . . :)

tom1394racing 12-31-2009 08:26 PM

Well let's see....The SC heads are 90 cc so that almost completes the list.

You guys are the best! Happy New Year!

The 3.0 SC, 3.2 Carrera and 3.0/3.3 turbo heads were all 90cc, correct?

Tippy 01-01-2010 07:56 AM

Tom,

Is the intake port diameter for the 930 heads correct?

Why I ask, is they are smaller than almost all the N/A motors.

Just curious. Great data collection!

Flat6pac 01-01-2010 08:04 AM

They have always been smaller as to keep the volume speed with direction.

Does anyone know why Porsche used so tiny porting for the 3.3 Turbo? (32/34)

Was this due to emission?

Flieger 01-10-2010 01:23 PM

Smaller ports increase intake air velocity at low engine speeds, sharpening throttle response at times when the turbocharger is not operating at its optimal efficiency and boosting.

HI Tom
you will need to make a note on the carrera 3.0Lt head, that it has NO air injection as the part No's(sorry the casting No's) are the same for the SC head that has air injection.

regards mike

I was sorting heads last week and have a couple K2 to add to the list
