MFI lines in air filter housing clogged

Hello all, I was wondering if you can help me with the following issue:

I've had the air filter housing of my 1972 MFI system media blasted and powder coated. All nice and shiny AND the little fuel lines on the inside of the housing clogged.

Are these lines for cold starting fuel enrichment and how mandatory are these for the system to function properly when not driving during winter times?

If they are needed, I suppose I can try and replace fuel line sections by some copper piping, i.e. brake lines. But is there a specific shape of the line end required (it now seems somewhat squeezed to an oval shape)

Thanks

Dennis

Dennis- that's not a 72 housing you have-- 1970 and 1971 had the brass "pisser" in the air filter housing above the stacks. 72 and 73 used internal jets inside the throttle bodies.

Hi John, by 'internal jets' you don't mean the injectors right?

The plastic stacks have little elbow/T fittings in the sides that connect to the cold start enrichment fuel lines. The earlier cars had metal spray bars in the air filter plenum chamber.

The actual MFI fuel injectors only open under the very high pressure of the MFI pump while the engine is running. These are located just behind the valve in the intake port below the throttle butterfly.
