New Mahle piston and cylinder install (de-glazing)

Ok... I have been researching this forum for info on de-glazing "new" cylinders and can't seem to find a definitive answer.

It would be nice for some experts to chime-in here with their recommendation for de-glazing "new" Mahle cylinders.

I have heard of one recommendation by Henry Schmidt where Scotchbright 7447 pads are used with soap and water, but I don't fully understand how the pads are applied, nor if this process applies to "new" cylinders.

Perhaps I have read these posts incorrectly and no de-glazing is necessary for new cylinders????

Thanks for your advice in advance.

Eric J.

New Mahle cylinders are ready to use as delivered.
I measuring new Mahle cylinders we have been somewhat distressed be the inconsistent specs but I guess that just verifies that these engines and their components are not rocket science.
