What compression for my 2.7

Hi, I've got a 2.7 motor that I'm setting up for Autox use in my 67. Currently it's got Mahle RS 8.5:1 pistons, 75S heads, and E cams. Had to tear it down to fix a cam problem and may change pistons while I'm in there, but I'm really wondering if the $900 for JE 9.5 pistons is worth the effort. How much HP will I really net, and more importantly what would the change in torque be down low, say around 3K as that's where a lot of action is in autox.

Thoughts?? ... and while we're at it, any suggestions on cam profiles, some have suggested the custom DC-30 grind over my E cams, same down low torque but more top end.

Thanks! Bill
