Compression test...
Hello guys,
I would like to make a compession test on two 911 engines. 1) 1988 3.2 RoW 2) 1986 3.3 TBO RoW What are the stock specs for them ? Thank you for your time, Jim SmileWavy |
I can only tell you that on my freshly rebuilt US '86 3.2, after 1000 mile break-in, I have a consistant 185 lbs. on all cylinders.
Take your test with the engine up to temperature and post the numbers. I'm sure the experts will comment. Get a nice pair of gloves, engine and plugs are quite hot. Don't over tighten when reinstalling the plugs. One of the important things is how consistant it is between the cylinders. |
Compression test results will depend on your ambient pressure and compression ratio.
Here's a table posted earlier on this forum with the results you should expect. The most important thing to look for is variation from one cylinder to the next. Should be less that 10%. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1282123896.jpg |
