mild upgrade to a 76 2.7

ok guys let loose

shortley i will be removing my 2.7 while i undertake a full respray and while its out

i would like to tweek it up a bit

it already has a head bolt upgrade, 11 blade fan, oil cooler, hydraulic tensioners.

and runs fine starts easy.

im thinking rings and bearing kit, ignitor 2, MSA, and new coil.

then what mild cam?

what about fuel is the mechanical fuel injection ok

i only want a sweet street ride for me and the wife

regards Michael

The cis injection is a good system when set up properly. It will limit your choices as to which cam you can run. I'm sure one of the experts will be able to help you with that. I would wait till it is apart and see if the pistons and cylinders are in spec before I decided on changes. Do you know the mileage on the engine, and any other work other than the head bolts?

best guess on milage is under 100,000kms 60,000miles based on discussion with previous owner

i will be doing some serious checking of current stuff before any decision but the motor feels good no smoke runs smooth but havent done a compression or leakdown yet

i guess im hoping that the big ticket items are ok
