P+C identification help.

Hi.

I have aquired some Mahle pistons and cylinders and wanted some help in correctly identifying what they actually are.

They are all 98mm and sold to me as RSR kit.
After looking at some recent posts with Piston reference guides on them they don't seem to be on there.

Pistons have 95P30 on the underside of them which seems to make them 95mm which they are definately not. (checked them in 95 cylinders)

Cylinders are marked up 95ZN1 W1 or 95ZN1 A3. Again pointing towards 95mm which they are not and again checked with 95mm pistons.

Can anyone shed some light on these please?

Regards
Db

95P30 are 3.0 RS pistons at 9.8 CR

They should look like these

Hi Tom.

They do.

i wonder why someone would run 3.0RS pistons in the RSR fitment cylinders then?
It looks like the only difference in the pistons is the 3.0RS ones have slightly less depth to the valve pockets and no chamfer to the edge of the piston top.

Could it be that they were running slighty less cam? Or did the 3.0RS have the same 83mm head stud centres as the RSR?

I believe the 95P30 was a Mahle Motorsports upgrade for the SC and Carrera.

Hey Tom.

I have 7 of these in 98mm, most of which have had holes machined into them to make them lighter.
What do you think they are worth?

Post some pics and I'll take a guess.

Are the rings lands and skirts in spec?
