I recently removed the engine/transmission module from my 1978 911Sc. The engine and transmission are stuck together and so far I can't get them apart. Can get about 1/4" gap and that is all. What to do? The car has been sitting for several years.

When I rebuilt my 80sc 3.0 I had to wiggle and pull a lot to get them to separate. I even used a piece of wood to pry them apart when there was a big enough crack to get the wood into..... I'm sure you'll get it apart...... and others will chime in that know a lot more than I do

Are both arms off of the clutch fork shaft?
The shaft needs to be able to rotate (to disengage the throw out bearing) as they separate.

Was it having shifting problems? If the pilot bearing has frozen it can spin on and weld itself to the input shaft. That can be very difficult to separate,.

Thanks Pete, I removed the levers and the transmission came right off.
