Rebuild Book - Cam sprocket alignment error

Hey Wayne,

Don't know if anyone has brought this one up yet, but in your rebuild book, you mention to 'add' 54.80mm rather than subtract from the left side measurement. Thought I'd mention it.

There certainly is a lot of confusion over this (including yours truly). There are different answers about whether you add or subtract this measurement in two out of three of the sources I researched. I have come to the conclusion it has to do whether you prefer left- handed or right handed arithmetic. You can add the dimension to measurement #1 (intermediate shaft) and then directly compare to your measurement for the left hand sprocket (measurement #3) OR you can subtract it from your measurement for the left hand sprocket (measurement #3) and directly compare it to measurement #1. WHEW!

Charlie:

Welcome!

The rebuild book Wayne published has a addendum which covers these issues. It shows which pages the technical/typos are on and pages affected.

Should be able to get this document from the website mentioned in the book.

Hope this helps.
