Piston Pin too short ?

Hi,

I want to assemble new JE pistons to my 911 2,4T engine.
If the piston pin is installed, it can be pushed ~4mm from one side to the other.
Is this all right ?
The old Mahle-pin is 4mm longer, would fit perfect.

I build up many motors, but never seen so much side-move on a piston pin

Got I the wrong pins ? ( They come seperatly packed, not stuck in the pistons )

regards,
Rich

pins

They are the wrong pins, Je's pins have a chamfer on the OD of each end that when installed they fit closely with the circlip, that keeps the hammer effect of the pin working on the clip groove. I have seen clip grooves more than double the width with a pin just a bit short.
