Strange Engine Sound
Good Day to All,
I just acquired a 1972 911T with a 2.4MFI engine. It is running fine but when the engine is running at operating temp.(200-220) I can hear a ticking metal sound. It seems to be coming from the fuel pump or left side of the engine. Is this normal? Any info or suggestions are highly appreciated. Thank you ![]() |

Very hard to diagnose a generic ticking sound. It helps if you can post a video.
Things to check include the timing chain tensioners and ramps, exhaust flange sealing, and possible broken head studs.
