Oil Pumps

I have a 964 oil pump which is marked: 964.107.130.7R.

I believe that this a magnesium bodied high volume pump with an improved scavenge.

I am considering fitting ot to an early 2.0 magnsium crankcase on a motor we are preparing for a race car but I seem to remember some comments about high levels of expansion causing problems with this pump but can't find the old thread.

I know that the case will need a small mod and we will do the By-Pass modification, I also know that I will need to change the coupling for a short 964 component.

Any other comments welcomed.

964 pump

With all the oil mods you will be fine, we use them as well as the GT3 pumps. just be sure you have a large enough scavenge out system to take full advantage of the larger pump.

The only issue we see with the magnesium 964 pump is a propensity for cracking.
If you choose to reuse a 964, inspect it closely for cracks in the pump body.
