2 questions rebuilding 3,3 turbo engine
hi, I am rebuilding my 86 3,3 turbo engine and
1. I am not sure about crankcase through bolt tightening. I have tightened them to factory spec, but due to rubber O-rings these bolts do not fit tight(you can easily turn entire bolt turning nut at one end). 2. should I use OEM cylinder head washers, if I am using arp head studs and nuts? |
You need to torque the cross bolts more than one time.

I did, by the way I even torqued 10nm more than it is recommended by factory, but still they look to me too loose.

Must be the green O rings, I only used them once and wont fool with them again. I think if you use the proper concave washers all will be OK.

Sounds strange that you could hit factory torque specs and still have them be less than tight. Are you sure you have the right o- rings?

used blue o-rings that came in victor reinz crankcase gasket set.
