Injector Lube
Just curious as to what others use for injector lube? I know some use motor oil, ATF, others use Vaseline or Optimol MP3 (whatever that is).

SilGlyde assembly lube from Napa, but very very little a thin coat will do just fine. Most important thing is make sure you do not pinch the seals on install. Ask me how I know

If you are meaning the O-ring having a cut in it, I had the same "issue" with my 944. This is one reason why I am diligent about the lube. I have been over thinking this topic.
I have been using Super Lube in my garage for may things, but not injectors. I contacted their technical support people and they confirmed that it would be a good choice. The O-rings on my 993 injectors are made of viton rubber. The Super Lube is excellent with viton according to "their" compatibility chart. It has has PTFE in, is good for up to 500F. I would have thought that this would have generated a little more talk, as it is very important. |

We all have some sort of assembly lube on the shelf. You are on the right path with your lube of choice

When I read the topic, I actually interpreted the question as applying to the lube of the injectors themselves during operation. In that regard, many put a pint of Marvel Mystery Oil in their gas tank every 10K miles or so to keep things lubricated (there are several threads here with testimonials to this). I have not done so, however (though I bought a pint and it's sitting on the shelf in my garage). I (and hopefully the OP) would be curious as to others' opinion here on this...what do you guys think?
