heads and cylinders question 2.2

Hello,
i posted this question in another forum and hope to get some more answers ...i got water in a cylinder from rain, no hydro lock but car sat for awhile and lots of calcification and a stuck valve. motor will rotate 180 by rocking etc.
i have not pulled the motor out to check further but have a question about the replacement parts i may or may not need, will any 2.2 t head and cylinder work? what manufacturer should i be looking for? and lastly has anyone had any luck cleaning calcification from a engine without tearing it apart(i think i know the answer to this one, but am still hoping).
Thanks , Ben

The head you want is the casting numbers with the letter, four numbers and a letter. Thats the exact head you need.
The deck height is written in ink on the sleeve of the cyliinder which is cast iron and the size of the piston is stamped on the face, 0, 1, and sometimes a 2, each represents a size.

I hope someone with more knowledge than me jumps in, but I can get you started in the right direction because even I know the easy answer to your question: "It depends." Not trying to be a smarta$$ but it does depend on what your objectives are going to be. Do you suffer from the "while you're in there syndrome"?

I think your cylinders are cast iron on that motor. If the pitting is minor you could get away with a slight overbore and a set of JE pistons in any compression ratio you want. Of course they need to be matched to an appropriate cam and head package. You also have the opportunity to upgrade to a set of 'S' pistons and cylinders.

Heads on the 'T' are the same as on the 'E' and they are the same for both 2.2 and 2.4 liter motors. Again, opportunities to upgrade abound. It depends on what you want to accomplish while you are in there.
