2.4L pistons, What to use?
Hello:
I'm getting ready to re-build a 2.4L engine and see that J&E doesn't make pistons smaller than 2.7L. What is everyone using for new pistons in a 2.4? Thanks, Kevin |
Do more research. I'm running JE's in my 2.4 with S cams. Check with our host first. If you strike out, I can point you to a source.
Good luck, Dana |
JE will custom make a set of 6 for you in 2.4 l size with what ever CR you want. 9.0/1 CR makes for a nice boost in HP. They just don't have them off the shelf. EBS (engine builder supply co) will also abe able to get you a matched set of P/C (nicklecell) in 2.4 L.

I've had 2.2 "S" pistions with GE40 cams for years. I think the compression works out to be 10.3? Premium gas required.

I've got 2.2 'E' pistons. better and cheaper than JE.

Dear Phrog,
I have just completed rebuilding my 1973.5 - i have used the mahle 2.2S cylinders and pistons - not sure if it matters if t, e or s - now it has a compression ratio of 9.6.1 -i have fitted rebuild zenith carbs and E-cams. The car runs great is much more of a sports car than before. Now i can easily keep up with a 2.2S on the track. I think the whole conversion Will cost you abt. USD 6500,- which is not too bad considering |
