Will a 993 SS cam - originally for a 3.2
 

Fit a 964 cam carrier on a 964 3.6? I have the PS pump blocked off. Sure looks like the cam nut is the same.

I dont quite understand the question other than all 3.2, 964, and 993 lock with the same bolt and heavy washer.

As in - is the cam carrier the same for a 964 as it is for a 3.2 Carrera?

a set of cams were made for a 3.2 carrera - these cams were made with a (993SS grind)

These cams came up for sale with very little hours in good shape by someone I trust.

Yes, they will, all the cam carriers for Carrera and 964 are basically the same, inside, as the cams are the same.

Thanks Bruce - that's what I thought - but wanted confirmation

Another angle to this is the stock 964 cam is commonly installed/upgraded to Carreras or SCs by grinding off the PS pump drive. So that tells you the 964 cam fits the older cam towers and therefore a Carrera or SC cam will drop into the 3.6 tower.

Yeah, I knew that side - was pretty sure - just wanted another opinion...

Some 89 3.2 motors have cam carriers with 964 part numbers on them as well.
