I believe I've seen where Bruce Anderson estimated $25,000 for a shop to do the engine, ball park of course.

It all depends on the condition of the internals and you won't know that until you inspect everything, and 2.7 being a Mag case, right, there will probably be added expense just due to that.

Not sure at all about trans. Why do you think the trans needs a rebuild? It might just need fresh oil and a Wevo shifter.

Garage
engine rebuild flat rate labor is 40 hrs - at $100/hr avg

easily gets to $10K quickly just for an "overhaul"

- my local guy gets $6K for a top end only with rings & valves & guides, gskts

assuming you deliver the engine on a crate

$8-9K min complete with bottom end brgs, gskts,

- assumes crank & cams, oil pump & all studs & such are OK

ADD $$$ for timeserts, other case work, studs, etc - much of which your 2.7 will need to be relliable

if you need P&C's add $3K or more

of course, MotorMeister will "do it cheaper"
