82 SC Rebuild

Are porsche parameters close enough for the balance of the motor, or should I have the motor balanced and blueprinted. I think the shop said they could get to 1 Gram.
This is a stock 3.0 SC motor.
Thanks,
Robert

Its kind of redundant to shoot for 1 gram and not go for "0"
With 0 at least you are knocking on the door of Purrfection...and its in truth not much more work.
To shoot for 1 gram is actually saying plus or minus 1 which equals 2 !
NOT good enough BUT you probably will never know it...I am just a anile bastard about stuff i can make better.
A Gram scale these days are cheap !

You may be able to do it yourself...and get pretty close to bang on by mixing/matching the lightest piston to the heaviest pin, etc.

You find your lightest Make all others match with a few different wheels and grinders
Do a bit of research on the net.
There are some real good ideas that will get you end for end. CHEAP
I read somewhere 1 gram is like 30 lbs out of balance..........
