ARP rod bolt clearance problem???
Good morning
First bump on the road. Rookie in trouble. I switch to ARP rod bolts. They were installed using the torque method by ARP. After placing the crank assembly on the R case and test a little rotation the bolt hits part of the case. I know the connecting rod is moving free and probably not perpendicular to the base of the case plane. So I hold it and barely clears the case while rotating the crank. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1328454967.jpg The bolts in place. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1328455057.jpg This is where hits. You can see the mark http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1328455112.jpg Another view. Do I have to worry? Maybe I'm been too rookiesh overly cautious ? If I have to grind the case I rather do it know and not after I placed the P&C. Any help and thoughts will be greatly appreciated Thank you, Felipe |
WE use ARP rods bolts all the time with no clearence issues what so ever.
I believe you are just seeing a rod positioning issue. |
Thank you Henry!
That was fast. Now I'll go back to work. |
