993 Muffler Heat Shield Delete?
In doing a search for the subject, it appears that some 993 owners have elected to permanently remove the heat shields from the inlets to their mufflers. Is this common, and what have been the results of deleting the shields? I assume that they were there to protect the plastic body parts that are in close proximity to the mufflers. Obviously, I would prefer to leave them off if there is no detrimental effects.

Now in 993 land ...
|
I have a melted rear bumper and just found out that I am missing these - the car came without them. Anyone have a spare set or take-offs, I sure would like to buy them.
The PO hadn't melted the heat bumper, but I sure did - I guess I pushed it a little harder on the track than the PO. ![]() G |
