What would be a hot-rodded 2.4 engine worth?
My friend is thinking about selling his hot-rodded 2.4 engine + other bits due to change in direction.
Perhaps you could give a hint what would things be worth. Engine is fully rebuilt 2.4 engine (0 hours, many photos of the rebuild that completed only few months ago): *Unmolested 3R case that is in perfect condition (originally from 2.2 T), align-bored. *2.2 S pistons *70.4 mm crank * ported MFI heads (39/36 mm), new valve guides, stem seals, valvejob done. * S cams *all new bearings, rings, gaskets *Also is available a complete 2.7RS MFI setup with 019 pump, plastic throttles, linkage etc. *5spd LSD equipped 915 trans (coarse flange diff). |
unfortunately - not much
- less than it cost to build the 915 with LSD is another matter - will sell PDQ if he puts it up on eBay . |
Oh, you're killing me. That would be an awesome motor for my 914-6 project! I had a milder version of that same motor built (E cams, and no head porting) but haven't installed it. Is this one twin plugged? Wish I would have done that on mine.

That is what I have in my 911T:
1973 yr, 2.4, 7R case, 2.2 S P&Cs, S cams, with 013 MFI system (2.4S). http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1339296306.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1339296369.jpghttp://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1339296439.jpg |

It is not twin-plugged due to the fact that it uses S cams (less dynamic CR) and that we have high-octane gas readily available (98 octane here, should be 93 for US?). Pardon my ignorance, but what does "PDQ" stand for? :) |
PDQ- Pretty Damn Quick

I would be interested in knowing more about this engine. You mentioned many photos of the rebuild, this something that can be seen online? I am also located in Eastern Europe and had considered transporting my 72 911T with MFI to have work done where I am now living (currently the car is in the States).
