It could be the decel valve causing the problem too. Disconnect the small line at the top & plug it. Drive the car & see if the high idle problem goes away. If that cures it let me know. I have a few used ones hanging around here & I can bring one to our car show Saturday.

Cool, maybe my diagnosis (or guessing) skills are improving. I wondered that yesterday, I did take off the line and plug it yesterday but havent driven it to see if it worked. Planning to drive her to work tomorrow, I'll let you know.
And yes, barring a washout I'll see you Saturday ![]()

Well, the idle is steady at ~1700 after warm this morning w/ the decel valve & it's vacuum line plugged. note: I had to bump up the idle & mixture Sat. afternoon when I returned home so that it would re-start (gave me my 2100 rpm idle again after a short drive). Disabling the Decel has reduced the total warm idle by 400rpm or so but otherwise no change.
On another note: I went to a gas station that was supposed to have 100% gasoline, turns out they have only 89 octane in 100%. So which is better, 91 w/ 10% ethanol or 89 w/ 0% ethanol?
