78 3.0l vibration isolator orientation

looking to get my weber 40's set back on my motor and do not recall the orientation of the intake gaskets & vibration isolator cut out. please see the pic below and let me know which one is right. with the cut out in the intake of the head i do not see enough mating surface area to align the isolator cut out with it. tia

You dont have CIS insulators. They should have extra fiber to cover the injector recesses in the heads.
Looking closer, those are MFI insulators...and a little small for your application.

bruce, i dont follow. they are isolators for a 3.0L with carbs as far as i know. they've been in play for a few years since the 40's came aboard. the intake diameter on the isolaters is the exact same size as the gaskets for carbs i got at parts heaven today.

when you say small i assume you mean port hole size?

You need CIS insolators...not MFI insolators. Contact PMO to get the right insolators. Let them know what port size you have and that you have CIS heads.

EDIT: You need PMO CIS manifolds in order to match the CIS ports to the Weber carbs....Regular manifolds may seal but the probability of a vacuum leak will be high.
