Weber air cleaner base to carb body gasket?
Are there supposed to be gaskets between the black base tin for the air cleaner and carb body? Also between air horns and the black tin - although I suppose if the tin is properly sealed, it wouldn't matter if the air horn is sealed to the base. Carbs were off the car and rebuilt when I got it so I'm not sure what was included in the rebuild kit. Any help would be appreciated. Thx

Yessir,..there needs to be a gasket there to prevent unfiltered air from getting into the engine.
You would use the float chamber gasket.

No gaskets under the air horns when they are inside the filter housing. The gasket beneath the tin is doing the sealing there.
That said, you could argue that a poor seal between the tin and the horn flange would reduce the venturi effect of the horn. Probably has to be a pretty big leak to disrupt the function of the horn?

thanks guys. only reason I asked about the horns - I found a gasket stuck to the air cleaner base so I'm thinking they came with gaskets. I agree though, probably not necessary for a fire breathing stock 2.0L.
