Question on upgrading 2.2 T Engine

Hi guys,

hope that here are some guys who can help me.

We are planning to upgrade our 911 2.2 T engine. We already have the SSI and a special stainless steel exhaust. And a RSR styled stainless steel oil tank.

We may want to go to build a 2.5 engine. What would you do on upgrading and which parts?
Or what would your choice be to do with a 2.2 case?!

Thx to all.

2.2 T upgrade

Very nice looking car. I had the same question 30 years ago. 71 2.2 T with worn engine. I shipped case to comp eng in california to put 2.7 rs spec mahl pistons and cylinders. Only cr available then was 8.5. they sent me L cams (same as E) added new weber 40s ssi and kept stock muff and stick 32mm heads. This makes a 2.515. This ran well used reg gas, made about 175hp. I needed to add front oil cooler after doing track events. Lasted until two years ago when I missed a shift on track. Since I got a good deal on a rebuilt 2.7 I put my L cams, webers, ssi muff etc on 9.5 JEs. I still have the bored 2.2 case btw. It is in excelent condition. I had no trouble with the T crank or 2.2 case. I would recommend a 2.5 with 9.5 or 10.5 if you want to twin plug. best of luck, Henry
