				Wrong PMO Manifolds for 3.2L

Just realized that the used set of PMO carbs that I purchased have the wrong manifold for a 3.2L. When I purchased them, I had no clue about manifold port sizes - I was focused on carb size and configuration... The manifold that I have is a 46mm top / 36mm bottom configuration. I had seen manifolds listed with 2 numbers but for some reason, it never connected. From top to bottom, here's the layout - 46mm carbs as measured from the base/butterfly opening: 46mm port on the top of the manifold: 36mm port on the bottom of the manifold And then opening to the 41mm port at the head Looks like this manifold set will be headed to the used parts board. Taper bore them or even get busy with a die grinder and some tungsten bits ? won't take long | ||

Before you modify your manifolds, make sure the flange is large enough to cover the injector cutout. If you have the CIS manifold, it may not be big enough.

				Manifold Mod

Agree Henry, I doubt these could be opened to 41mm - not that I have any intent to modify a perfectly good/nearly new manifold. Thanks, Gordo

I'm trying not to focus on expenses (oops - I bought the wrong manifolds, there's another $400 + $60 for the insulator kit). Just want to make sure I do things right and get the results I want. Paying too much attention to expenses could lead to cutting corners, and loss of my already frail sanity Gordo

I don't think the 41mm manifolds will be any better at covering your intake port. The CIS insulators are what cover the injection cut-out. -Andy
