What magic sauce on intake gaskets???
I can't find any reference to any coating for the intake runner gaskets. Are they installed dry? Thanks in advance.

They're going on naked boys, not torqued though. Any input?

The use of high quality gaskets in this application is more important than "magic sauce". Good gaskets install dry. Low quality gaskets glue them and pray.
Cheers

They are Reinz. Is that a good one? Thank you for the reply. I know you are very busy and I much appreciate it. Cheers, Mike.

Victor Rienz is at the low end of the quality chart. There are many that will work but most are substandard. We won't use them on our engine builds not ever in a pinch.

What should I use? I got these in a kit from here. I thought I was doing the correct thing. Hmmmm.

Mr. Schmidt are the rest of my gaskets suspect? I'm ordering the OEM intakes now. Should I be concerned about all the other Rienz seals I used for this whole rebuild? Bummer..

At this point your engine is built. If you built your engine with attention to detail you have a reasonable chance of success. I wouldn't worry. My advise for gasket choice is meant to point people in the right direction before the engine assembly starts. We only use gaskets supplied by Wrightwood Racing because we don't see the same quality in the VR gaskets. That said, the intake gaskets just have to seal vacuum. No oil leak possible. Use a little Curil T on the gaskets and you should be OK. Don't over-tighten the nuts.

Thank you. I feel much better now. Many hours spent cleaning and reading this board so I think I might be alright as you said. Nuts torqued to 18 ft lbs is what I've seen here and in the Bentley on page 102-39 for my SC. Cheers.
