DC40 or DC60 camshafts for rally
Building 3.0 10.5:1 Rally motor on ITB's and stock valve train besides upgraded springs... John D recommends either DC40 or DC60. Heads will be P&P adn intake/exhaust opened to 40-42mm...
Anyone running these? Thanks |

Close-ratio gears are really needed to get the most from the DC60's so that should be a big factor in which cam you choose.

We have run 60's without problem and with some good results but we do have a gear set we developed specifically to suit.
The gearing gives around 40mph in 1st, 60 in 2nd, 80 in 3rd, 100 in 4th and 120 in 5th at 7500rpm. We used an 8:31 Ring and Pinion and a standard first gear and changed 2,3,4 and 5. We had the gear made here in the UK and then shot peened and REM treated. The box has proven reliable and never caused any problems. I would think 40s would be a bit 'soft' |

I am running DC-60's in my RSR clone with a twin plug 10.5:1 CR 3.0 liter. I have 46mm PMO's. The gearbox is a mag case 915 with LSD. 1st and 2nd gears are stock. 3rd, 4th and 5th gears are down stacked with 1:1 gearing in 5th.
This combo has worked really well for me both on the street and at the track for DE's.
