1974 2.7 Euro Tech engine ?

I have just purchased a 1974 Porsche 911. The car when new was sold from a Porsche dealer in Hawaii and I was told that cars from outside the main land of USA did not have to meet the U S emissions and had the Euro Tech Engine. Does anyone know anything about this. Thanks Jim

Never heard that one before. It might not have CA emissions equipment but would otherwise be US crash test and emissions compliant.

Not true. But in may be a gray market car that was exempt threw the port of NY?
US [US means United States and that means all 50!]Emissions laws are just that US FEDERAL not State laws. All 50 states vehicles are saposed comply in the same way. Some states do impose more laws, ie California.
Having said that in Hawaii we can get away with modifying engines and removing any or all emissions equipment as the Federal emissions laws are not in-forced here.
