I've been shopping for a set of P/C's for my 2.4 rebuild. The Mahles run over $4.5k, too steep for me, and good used stuff has dried up. So, I've been looking at the AA/QSC alternative. Material quality and machining can be an issue that you won't see on the German stuff. Fortunately, Henry Schmidt at Supertec Porsche Engine Rebuilder works his magic on sets of 86mm AA cylinders with JE pistons. He adds a nikasil coating to the cylinders and QC's the sets. Give him a call.
