Bonehead move on crank install
During installation of my crank assembly, I made a stupid mistake. Installing crank I couldn't figure out why it wouldn't seat in the bearings. Pulled crank out, then I realized I hadn't lined up the #8 bearing with the dowel pin mark I made. I was just too nervous. I didn't think about it. Ended up scratching the left side of the outside of the #8 bearing. Anything I can do except buy another bearing and start again?

Use it as is. Glue it in as per Henry Schmidt and move on.

Hi Mitch1
It's probably too late, but you could put a VERY thin coating of Loctite 574 on there. dmark9 P Fix It | Porsche 964 | Repair & Maintenance Videos |
