oil pump cleaning??

79 3.0 sc oil pump ,when I take this apart to clean it,should I use any type of sealant where the two oil pump case halves meet, lost a con rod bearing and want to as thorough as possible al from mass
before the little engine problem, hahaha

Every pump Ive taken apart didnt have any noticeable means of sealant in the pump. Both my 993 and 930 turbo pump where like that. Just make sure to mark the rotors to make sure it all goes back together the same. Work looking at the scav side to see if there as any damage. GL.

If your motor lost a con rod and there's a possibility that it could be scared.
You might as well send that pump to Glenn Yee Racing in San Dimas Calf for 1) for cleaning 2) mods to increase overall flow.....blue printed.
