JE FSR's are here

Nice looking pieces for my rally car... I'm pretty excited to get this motor back together.

Those look serious! What benefits do they offer over a stock JE? Lighter weight I assume..? Good luck w your build.

These are 95mm units for my 3.0 rally car in 10.8:1... They are said to be stronger, have less friction in the cylinder and be lighter...

JE removes the peripheral material around the pin bores between the skirts for weight savings. They add additional bracing to reinforce the piston. Basically its a lot like the shape on the underside of a typical Porsche Mahle forged piston

JE can provide that FSR treatment to any of their pistons from what I understand.

I'm jealous. I meant to get my recent set of pistons with FSR forging and simply overlooked the fact that FSR was not listed on my order. Nice attention to detail on my part, I know.....

what size is the pin, which rods will you use ?

As per the spec sheet that came with the pistons, they claim to be 453 grams. Im unsure if this is with the 22mm pins and rings. I'm guessing the quoted weight is bare... ???

For reference my 95mm 10.5:1 pistons are 462g each. That's bare with no pins (22mm pins are 109g ea.) & wire locks, and no rings installed.

Given how much material is taken off the side of the piston, even though there's some of that material weight put back into the piston with the side bracing, I think that 453g might be with pins? I would think the FSR material reduction would amount to a weight loss alot less than ~10g. I do realize your 10.8 compression also adds some dome volume.

Still jealous!

The pistons are 453 grams with OUT the pins or rings as measured with the trusty kitchen scale...

Nice looking pistons.... I have a set of 11.5:1 105mm JE FSR's in my engine (Full Billet in my case) Mine came in at 467g each... They really are a beautiful piece of kit.

There are some good photo's of my pistons in the February issue of Excellence where they are running a project series on my engine rebuild.

As soon as I find my pic's I will post.

Mine didn't need it. They were good to go out of the box.
