Use oil or Corning 55 for oil pump seal?

Hi guys
Do we Use oil or Corning 55 for oil pump seals?

Use something that doesnt let them fall off when you put the halves together.

You don't have to use anything at all. These seals are captured and compressed, unlike the oil return tube seals. So they don't have to be able to move freely.

Though Bruce's practical advice is good. Despite the fact that the pump to right case seal ought not to be dislodged when you bolt the pump and IS in place, it could happen. And as you are jockeying the left half into place over the two seals on that side, they could bet bumped. I think someone within the last 6 or so months found that he had done that, which explained his low oil pressure issue.

I have knocked them off, now I use avation permatex, a drop or 2 and let it set up.
It beats going back to split the case.
