A '68L engine should be properly restored in addition to being rebuilt. This is something not all shops are necessarily good at.

Both shops mentioned are excellent, very active in HSR racing and have be doing high end air cooled engines for decades.

Cylinder Heads

Xtreme Cylinder Heads is in Florida. They did the heads for my 3.3SS engine and did a very nice job at a reasonable price. I think they are located in the Miami area. Good guys to work with!

Xtreme Cylinder heads is the number one place for cylinder head machine work and modifications in the USA and they are in Palm City, Florida which is the west side of Stuart, Florida. They only do cylinder heads.

Stuart, Fl is about 2 hours north of Miami.

KMW Motorsports (Kevin Wheeler) in Boca Raton FL is a top Porsche only shop that are big time into vintage racing and very good at it. They have dome some impressive retorations.

I could but would need the whole car and I'm in Minnesota so that doesn't make much sense. Personally I'd use 901 Shop but that's just my opinion...
