Fresh rebuild will not start

Video here 993 won't start - YouTube

With the dme pulled, the motor spins freely and builds solid oil pressure. With the due installed, see video. The motor spins a few times, then pauses, spins a few times and pauses.

There is pressure in the fuel rail. The exhaust 'blows' Ive had a long day and it's cold out so we called it a night. Any suggestions?

sounds like ignition is out of time. Put it on tdc#1 and make sure both pointers on the distributors are correct.

So incorrect timing will not always pop or backfire?

Did you do the timing of the Cam's

TDC for #1 should have both rockers moving, then set distributor for the timing mark. I am doing a 964 a did the timing of the cams and it started on the third try. good luck
