Sealing th e #8 nosecone bearing

I've heard a few folks recommend using sealant like Threebond 1184 on the #8 / nosecone bearing to supplement the o ring. Where is it recommended to put the sealant?
Surrounding the o ring but not on it?
On the o ring itself?
Some other way?

Thanks.

A smear on the case bore where the o-ring contacts. I use dirko. Just a light smear.

We recommend a very light smear of TheeBond 1211 not 1184 on the #8 bearing surface area. We've been doing some testing with Dirko (like JW suggests) as of late and have seen some good results in shear tests on the bench..

Per Henry, i did ThreeBond 1211 including on the o-ring itself but .... do not block the oil return channel.

Good pics and comments starting here, showing the oil return channel:
