79 911 eng teardown
I just finished taking my 3.0 engine completely apart. How do I find a local (up to 100 miles) machine shop I can trust with a Porsche engine parts inspection?

First step is to identify where you live. That would be a big help.

You could buy a few simple tools and do a lot of it yourself. Almost any quality machine shop can micro polish your crank and measure it for you. The heads should be sent to a specialist. Just deal with the shipping cost as one messed up head by a non specialist will far outweigh the cost of shipping.
