Melling Timing Chains?
I was looking for some parts for my stroked SBF motor and noticed that melling is making a timing chain for the 911. Has anyone ever used one of these? While were at it, what is the best chain out there?

Hmmm. I always thought the Iwis Racing Sport were supposed to be best from what we had to pick from.

If you go with replacement chain (the type with a master link) the field is more open to you.
Looking at chain...the links can be slightly "8" shape...or slab sided (more beef to the link). Also...if you use bulk chain...you might consider super heavy duty "O" ring chain...we use them on high power Harleys. They have much less stretch over time. BUT...make sure to replace the sprockets...ALL of them...when replacing the chains...so that you don't introduce wear into the system from poor fitting teeth. BTW...there are chains out there that have bigger pins...and some have smaller pins with "floaters" on them too. Bob
