Question I need these HEADS ID'd please.

I was told these are 2.4L CIS heads, but I was also told by someone else that they were MFI. I would like someone to varify which with these photos and casting numbers. All info you can give me as to what years these came on and what other configs they would fit. Heads info: Valves are 40mm & 45mm (or maybe 46?) / Ports are 30mm intake and 35mm exhaust. Casting numbers are 911.104.302.0R / 10-72 K1819n If it helps at all the Camshafts used have these markings: 911.105.142.0R (Rt.) and 911.105.141.0R (Lt.) I'm needing this info so I can sell them. If anyone could respond asap, I'd muchly appreciate. Regards, Relayswitcher

These were used on the 2.4 CIS T engines.

Are these the only CIS heads with the injectors installed into the head's intake port, rather than upstream?

I would think this is because Porsche was using up the MFI head castings it had already made.

Yes,...'74-'83 CIS cars placed the injectors in the intake manifolds as this was a cooler location and reduced the carbon deposit problems.

They can be used on any of these engines depending on what intake system will be used.

You may need to do some modifications if you will not use CIS or if you wish to use an aggressive camshaft that needs larger ports.

These would be perfect for someone who wants to go EFI as you could just use a set of MFI throttle bodys and stacks for air control, since the injectors go straight into the heads you don't need to deal with adding injector blocks.

I realize this I an old thread, but I have a set of heads with the same k1818n on them, but they are dated 2/72. They are on the motor so I cannot see the other side with the part number. From the underside the only numbers I can see look like 20R. These heads are on motor with Webers that was build in the 80's by Franz Blam. The block is a 2.0 original to the 65 build car. Thanks for the help.

IIRC, there are no part numbers on the heads. Casting numbers are there, but they don't mean a lot. 2.4 CIS heads are for 73 1/2 Ts only. I don't recall how the injector holders are inserted into the heads, but perhaps they screw in like MFI injectors, which may mean you could use them on earlier 2.4 Ts.

There are part numbers as indicated above, just cannot see them. Dates are 2/72 and 3/72. Seems a bit early for a 73.5 CIS car?

The aluminum is not screwed in but pressed some way. When you try to remove them the aluminum collapses
Get the aluminum out and tap the hole for MFI injectors or tap and plug for other uses.
Reference, T and E heads are the same in production.

Guys, sorry for the confusion, but these heads are in a running driving car. No need for rebuild, screams like a banshee. I am just trying to figure out what I have. As I said Franz Blam did the build in the mid 80's so not telling what he did, but it is fast.
