Fan housing extension cool drivers side bank?

Is this the correct orientation for this? There was not one on it when I bought the car. The fan is sitting on its bottom as it would be in the car. Thanks.

Not correct,
The fins should lead the air to the oilcooler.
So i think you must rotate it 180 degrees

I think that's only 90° clockwise as viewed in the photo. Should direct air down and to the passenger side as the oil cooler is passenger side, I believe.

It's correct in the picture. I believe it only fits one way.

Micahel,

Rotating the air diverter 180° is not feasible because of the engine fiberglas shroud. It would not even fit doing the way you suggested.

Hi and sorry i hink i have to correct my statement.
Its orientated the right way in the picture.
Never the less , as far as i remember it fits only one way under the shroud.
Try it.

That's strange, I coulda swore the one on my 82 SC had the rectangular cut out for the voltage regulator on the bottom and the vanes were oriented same as depicted but certainly didn't cantilever over the rectangular opening.

Like this one:

The notch is at the top and bottom depending how the production ran. But you don't see them on the side....
The picture is correct in post one. The only time you see a air guide on the right is in a turbo cowl, it's there for the cylinder 4.
