So could I have my old barrels made useful for JE pistons?

dpetteng 02-10-2015 08:31 AM

Anyone got any experience of these QSC kits?

Yup, you can get your existing barrels over-bored and replated with Nikasil. You can go 3.4 all the way up to 3.7 I think. 3.7 might need some machine work on the case tho. The JE pistons are an excellent option! I'm using them on my 3.4 build.

Once you go bigger you will have to being looking at twin plugging the heads due to the bore size and the offset position of the spark plug. I will also send you an email or PM. You are entering the slippery slope of while I'm in there......

So if I wanted to stay close to 3.2 I would have the cylinders bored as little as possible and find a JE piston to fit?

Jcslocum 02-10-2015 08:46 AM

No, no, no not QSC parts.....

Buy some JE 3.4 pistons PORSCHE - PORSCHE 911 (Automotive Section) - JE Pistons

Send them to Millenium technologies and have them bored and plated to fit.

I think the 9.5:1 can get away without twin plug.

So that would be better than Euro Mahle 3.2 pistons and barrels?

What kinda ballpark costs would there be for boring and plating?
